Meditation helps us to slow down our busy minds and silently observe our thoughts. Our thoughts shape our days and our lives, so by sitting still and paying close attention we can become more aware of what comes up in the mind. As we become more aware, we can choose the direction of our thoughts. Studies have shown that awareness has a powerful effect on healing the mind and body. By focusing and leading the mind away from stressful thoughts toward peaceful thoughts we relieve stress and strengthen the immune system.
