5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Middle School Students (Parents Invited)
Stephen Hill had everything going for him in secondary school: a loving family, lots of friends, and he excelled in school – especially sports. Elevated to play on the junior varsity lacrosse team in 8th grade, Stephen was introduced to drugs and alcohol by older peers. He started drinking and smoking his freshman year of high school, and his life quickly spiraled out of control. Before long, he was addicted to prescription painkillers and heroin. Stephen Hill, age 27, will address his progression from underage drinking to prescription pills and heroin and how addiction completely took over his life. Some of the personal experiences that Stephen shares are difficult for him to talk about, but he feels it’s worth it if his story helps just one person.
Join fellow athletes, students and parents to hear more about Stephen Hill’s struggles with addiction and his inspiring story of recovery that led him to become an advocate for sobriety.
