SUMMARY:NARCAN(naloxone) TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:Last year\, over 70\,000 Americans died from overdoses involving illegally made fentanyl. Shockingly\, on average\, 22 teenagers aged 14 to 18 died each week in 2022 from drug overdoses\, frequently as a result of taking\ncounterfeit pills containing fentanyl. Regrettably\, nearly 40% of all overdose deaths and 67% of adolescent overdose deaths had a bystander present who could have intervened by administering the overdose reversal medication Narcan(naloxone)\, but they didn’t. Being trained and having Narcan can save lives. \nLearn how to:\nRecognize the signs of an opioid overdose\nAdminister the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone \nWe invite you to join us for NARCAN (naloxone) training on May 2nd at 7:30 PM. The training will be held in the Community Room at the Manhasset Secondary School District Office building. Attendees will receive a free Naloxone(NARCAN) kit. \nBeing trained and having Naloxone can save lives.
